Weekly Photo Challenge: Joy – is a Dirt Bike

The WordPress Weekly prompt this week is joy and it immediately brought to mind a young man I know, and his first time riding a dirt bike.  My husband and I spend every July on his ranch in McCall, Idaho. Family and friends are welcome to visit and take advantage of the toys my hubby has stored in the barn. In 2012, my son came to visit with two of his friends. When my husband offered to teach them how to ride dirt bikes, the suburban raised young men jumped at the chance.  I was able to get a lot of photos of them learning and then riding non-stop all over the property.  This grinning guy had just fallen off one of the more powerful bikes, scraped himself up and gotten back on to finish the ride.  He was coming up to the house to show off his battle scars when I caught this shot.

Thank you Ian. We just got back from a ride this morning. A glorious day! I always have poetry in my heart when we ride (a huge part of the joy is riding with my wonderful husband).

Bikes always leave you with a smile on your face. Hope you and your family had a fantastic Christmas and that 2014 will be a great year for you all.

Meghan, I’ll bet they loved it. I love the idea of spending the month in Idaho. We got to Wyoming each summer and I long for it often. A blessed 2014 to you and yours.
