My hubby’s and my most treasured activity is taking our motorcycle out on the weekend, usually Sunday, for a long ride to a yummy brunch and then head home. I’ve gotten into the habit of taking an iPhone photo at each brunch (or dinner on occasion) place on every ride we take and posting them to Instagram and Facebook. My first one was in April of 2012.
It became a challenge to get a unique shot when we frequented the same place often. In fact I wrote a blog about The Golden Egg Cafe and my photo collection called: Biking to Breakfast.
Over these past two weekends we traveled to Ojai and then to Malibu for Sunday brunch. I thought it would be fun to look back at the very first photos I took of each of these places and then show the most recent one (and yes there have been a few in between).
AGAVE MARIA’S RESTAURANT & CANTINA, OJAI, CA (love that name!)
THE MARMALADE CAFE, MALIBU, CA (yummy)
Besides that the Marmalade Cafe has remodeled, what I notice is the difference in photographic style from a year ago. I now use a few editing apps instead of just Instagram treatments. For instance, I edited both the recent shots with Snapseed. I do hope we find a few new places to eat as well as sticking to our favorites… it would be fun to shake up the biker brunch portfolio.
I’m not sure I have followed this WordPress Photo Challenge prompt to the letter. I have not taken a representative photo of a daily habit, but rather showed a habit of photographing treasured moments. I hope you enjoy the idea. Now it’s time for me to eat, all this talk of brunching is making me hungry. 😉
