Why is Coffee so Enticing?

coffeetall center signAs I was blurrily (is that a word?) driving out of my way this morning to pick up a mocha, I wondered if other people got the same rush as I when they take the first sip of their coffee of choice for the day.

I’m a mocha drinker myself.  I can’t do coffee without milk or my tummy complains.  AND it must be hot milk since I enjoy the temperature of the drink as much as the taste.  So if I’m doing coffee and hot milk, what the heck… lets add chocolate!  Wow, just writing that inspired a big happy sigh.  How could I do without that bliss for the day?  I think I might be on the same page as Jennifer Anniston:

Look I eat really well and I work out, but I also indulge when I want to. I don’t starve myself in an extremist way. You’re not taking away my coffee or my dairy or my glass of wine because I’d be devastated.

But this brings up the question… why is coffee often maligned?  IS it bad for you?  Is it good for you?  (and do we addicts care? ;) )   AND is the idea that it might be bad for you part of the allure?

In my search for the meaning of coffee, I’ve gathered some great images on my Pinterest board… Coffee, Coffee and more Coffee.  I am fascinated by how many people LOVE coffee.  I can follow Pinterest images of coffee that other pinners have pinned from all over the world!  It’s a huge community brought together by this “liquid love”.

I ask you out there… what do YOU think?  I’d really love to hear from you.

So glad you stopped by! I have a small espresso machine that also steams milk, but it is time consuming to set up and prepare. So when I don’t get taken out on the weekends for my mocha, I end up with coffee at home. Really need to find a good syrup to add.

Coffee is my only vice. I will not give it up. I asked the hubby for a Keurig — still waiting. LOL Can I wait til my birthday? It’s September … I’m thinking not! I don’t drink it hot, I like mine warm or iced and with half and half. MMMM Time to make another pot with all this coffee talk!

    I agree with you!!

I like the “tradition” of how and when you drink coffee. I’ll explain……when I make it at home, I love to use the old percolator method – smells wonderful and it reminds me of my grandmother. Then I drink it from a beautiful (china) cup and sit outside under the porch to have a couple moments of quiet!

Then…..the other way I love drinking coffee is at work! Nothing like gathering all my co-workers together for a coffee fix! We can gab and moan about being at work yet that coffee will kick start the day and make it all better!

And for those rushed mornings – a Starbuck drive thru works wonders!

Sorry for the novel! See what coffee does? Brings out wonderful memories and feelings!!

I'd love to hear from you!
