W: Watching the Time

I’m not much of a clock watcher, but at my latest temp job I was very aware of the time.

I do temporary clerical jobs now and then to supplement my retirement income. I spent a few days last week in a nice, quiet office with nothing much more to do than organize files. It wasn’t particularly stimulating and so I started watching the clock… or rather, clocks.

They have an office here in California, and one in Texas. So they have two clocks prominently displayed.

At first I thought that was an excellent idea. Hey, it’s great to know whether your co-worker in Texas is there if you have a question. But then, as the day dragged on and I kept looking up at the clock(s), I realized that the one I always checked  first was the Texas one which is two hours closer to quitting time. Whenever I lifted my eyes I had a split second of glee until I realized it was the top clock that was correct. 🙁

I decided to stop looking at the clocks so I glanced around the office, and you’ll never guess what I found.

I had my pick of time! Heck, even the digital clocks didn’t agree. All I could do was sigh, since all I wanted to do was go home.  It wasn’t until I went into the conference room that I found what I was looking for.

Finally I could go home. 😀

Thank you for visiting. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.

P.S. I’m sorry I haven’t visited all my blogging friends this week… work got in the way of play!

It is interesting. A refreshing change from working at home and being herded around by the dog. (although if I didn’t have him I’d never leave the computer!)

I’m also behind with my blog hopping due to rubbish internet. I’m by the beach in an internet cafe for the afternoon to catch up… The clocks in that office all be different would drive me potty, bet it’s interesting though going to new place working for a few days.

Absolutely right! Luckily the temp job was only for a few days. I never watch the clock when I’m blogging. 😉

It’s so funny, I didn’t even realize the five o’clock one until I’d edited all the shots and was putting together the post. It was perfect!

I'd love to hear from you!
