Reflections: Windows as Mirrors

I had a lot of fun taking these photos of windows as mirrors.

I spent 2011 taking a photo a day of my surroundings and experiences and created a visual biography of that year. I have a thing for reflections and the campus I worked on has these great windows that reflect interesting images depending on the time of year, day and position of the viewer.

And finally, the obligatory selfie!

My caption for this shot was: Ok, fess up…I bet you surreptitiously check yourself out in highly reflective windows as you walk by too.

There is not a lot of personal reflection going on in these shots, besides learning to enjoy the beauty of my workplace, but I truly love the extra-perceptual (ok, made up word) nature of such strong reflections of life.

As always I welcome comments on this or any other part of my blog.

Thanks Mary. I love that as well. It was almost part of my title but couldn’t really get a good rhythm using the word.

Thank you! If you look at the second and third one you can see the blinds on the windows. But you wouldn’t really be able to see the people working in the offices unless it was dark out and they had their lights on. I felt a little self conscious passing by them occasionally tho… luckily I knew no one was in the office I took my selfie in front of because I always started work a half hour before anyone else! 😉

Hi Meghan – what a fun challenge in 2011 – and looks like it has an ongoing impact as the pictures are now a keepsake! and I loved this “learning to enjoy the beauty of my workplace….” well said.
also enjoyed each of the photos in this post. 🙂 and was wondering if they were two-way window mirrors – look like it… hm…
