Random Moments of Delight #44: A Virtual Vacation

I’ve decided to take a vacation from the social media world for the next month or so.

Life has kind of kicked my butt lately…

virtual 5

I’ve been working full-time at a tedious temp job and I’ve been stress eating…

virtual 9

I became a grandma, and as incredibly wonderful as that is, it means I’m old enough to … well … to be a grandma!

virtual 12

And this week I’m having a birthday.  Why is it that 58 seems so much older than 57?

(thanks BFF! lol)

Finally, my wonderful dad is terminally ill….

virtual 17

I feel depressed one minute…

virtual 6

Then chaotic and discombobulated the next…

virtual 10

Then philosophical…

virtual 2

And then FAT almost every minute! (former bulimic here…)

virtual 20

It’s time to retreat from online responsibilities to relieve some stress…

virtual 3

And to remember that change is the only constant, which means that life will get better in time…

I will be back for the 12-12-12 virtual photo exhibit at the end of December for sure, and I’ll see how it all goes from there.

Random Moments of Delight will be back … so don’t forget to keep an eye out for all those wonderful moments in your lives. And like me… if you feel down, just:

If you have any moments of delight you’d like to share with me please leave your link below or in the comments. I’m leaving the linky open until my next Random Moment of Delight post, so I’ll see all your moments! I wouldn’t be surprised if you see some of my own happy moments from an Instagram or Facebook post in the next month or so on the linky. After all, life always holds amazing promise.

virtual 14

As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day. Thank you ALL for being such wonderful friends. Have a wonderful holiday season!

P.S. You’ll love this… when I was about ready to write this post this morning, my desktop computer died…

virtual 18I took it as a sign that I made the right decision to take a virtual vacation! (Don’t worry all of my stuff resides on an external hard drive so none of my work was lost.)

Oooh hey sweetie wow you have so much going on I am not surprised you need a break. I am so so sorry to hear about your father 🙁 big hugs and you know my email if you wish to rant or talk xx

You’ll be missed, but this definitely sounds like the right move. I hope and pray for better days. Sometimes a break from all this is necessary. As fun as it is, life needs to be lived. You can write (and draw) about it later. Good luck. Oh and 58? It really is only a number. We move at a slower pace, but it gives us the opportunity to smell the roses and take in the view. Take good care, Meghan.

Happy birthday. You certainly don’t look your age. Take care and hope to see you occasionally over the next month. This post is fantastic and I love how you did it. You will come back stronger than ever after your break. Spend time with your father and get some great memories of him. I am doing the same with my parents. 😀

Happy Birthday, Meghan. Think about the happiness and adventures that lie in store for the next 30-40 years! Take a break to rest and gird your loins for the rest of the year. Think about Idaho and what lies in wait for you there in that beautiful country. I’m sorry about your dad. Take time to spend it with him, too. Blessings.

Amazing the signs the universe sends us–Happy Birthday Meghan-it sounds like it is definitely a one day at a time place you are at–I am sorry to hear about your father too-I know you will meet whatever life has for you with humor and strength-take care of yourself!

Wishing you a Happy Birthday and a Happy Thanksgiving as well. I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. May both of you find joy in the time that remains. I also know what it’s like to feel like you’re the universe’s punching bag; this has been the toughest year for me in at least twenty. Perhaps one day we can all share lemonade recipes. Hang in there, and hope see you on the top side before too long.

When it rains it pours isn’t just a saying – it’s a real thing. Sometimes you need to live life instead of writing about living life. Best wishes for a happy birthday and prayers that things get easier and that you have the strength to manage all of it while maintaining your amazing ability to smile and make the best of all the good parts. xo

Hi Meghan – first of all – happy birthday to you – happy birthday dear artist extraordinaire 🙂 – and some of your pics cartoons made me laugh – and then pause to want to send you a blog hug <<>> and to send warm well wishes for your dad. Also, enjoy your pause – because it can be very good (as you obviously know) and well – also just wanted to quickly add that our family attorney passed away when she was 58 – it was in 2008 and I still hold a place for her in my heart – but I mention it because it is just a little reminder that lifer is such a gift and in the midst of the change – remember what a gift you are – to your hubs and family – and to that little grand baby who still gets to feel your embrace – <3 <3
you are blessed and a blessing to so many – including us blog friends 🙂
