Random Moments of Delight #43: Twelve by Twelve on Twelve

I am getting excited about participating in a photographic event next month hosted by a wonderful photographer and blogger, Meg Greene of Little Dogs Laughed and Move the Chair.

Meg invited me to be one of the twelve photographers and I am truly honored… see my huge grin!

As many of you know, for the past few months I’ve done more creative work with my hands and less with the camera. It’s time now to get into the groove and prepare for this December challenge.

I dusted off my iPhone camera (just kidding, no dust on it… only smears 😉 ), and set to work taking shots around my office.

I’m playing with new (to me) iPhone apps and create a few iterations of the same shot to pick the one I like best. I put together a still life on my desk to experiment with.

With this one I used the app Phototoaster first than added a texture in the app DistressedFX, my newest enjoyment.

There are some beautiful rose bushes right outside my office. Check out what I did with this shot…

I’ve used my iPhone apps to enhance some of the drawings I’ve done (then post to Instagram and Facebook) so that they don’t seem repetitive to my viewers as I continue to add to the zentangles each day.

And of course my day wouldn’t be complete without a shot of my fur family…

"Aw Mom... Tell me you didn't just take a picture of me sleeping next to the CAT!"

I have really missed my photography and blogging and look forward to the end of this temp job so I have time to create with my hands AND shoot and blog. What about you? What would you add to your life if you had more time?

Tune in at the end of next month to see the 12-12-12 Exhibit, and in the meantime, check out Meg’s great blogs and get to know her and her fur family. As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.

Would you like to share a random delight that happened for you this week? You can use the linky below or simply put a link to your post in a comment. This party lasts all week, and is about sharing special moments with each other whatever form they take (more info here).

You can link from Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, a blog … (as long as it’s your work). It would be lovely if you would mention my FireBonnet name when you do 😉 .

    Oh dear…. a cat on a head? Monstrous I say… Cooper.

I am really looking forward to the challenge. I’ll make sure I have plenty of memory cleared on my iPhone so I can take lots of shots for raw material. Then the fun part will begin deciding how much to adjust with apps…. See my big smile. I am so looking forward to seeing all the other photographers’ work.

I’m going to be winging it! It turns out we will be flying to Colorado that day (pun not intended but pretty funny). It should give me plenty of material anyway. What fun both of us are participating.

I’ve been there Genevieve! I finally just took back the DVR and got rid of cable… the guilt is gone! Now we only watch what is offered on Instant Netflix and Amazon Prime. At least it is all commercial free.

Thanks for the plug Meghan! I love your “warm up” shots and am looking forward to seeing what you come up with next month–I think this is going to be a great challenge with lots of amazing inspiration and images! Cheer up Cooper–at least you are not wearing the cat on your head, which is what happened to Jack Henry with a neighbor’s cat awhile back-talk about undignified–for the cat!! 🙂

How exciting to be selected for the 12-12-12 challenge. Congratulations! I love what you did with the flower. Sadly, if I had more hours in the day, I’d watch TV and clear off all the shows on my DVR. I’m buried in shows I’m dying to watch….
