Random Moments of Delight #34: Fashion Parade

Now that I have a job (and a paycheck) I decided to update my wardrobe and bring some fun fashion into my life.

Too bad hats aren’t in or I’d wear them to work!

I’ve been shopping the past few weeks. My work wardrobe was old and out of date, and it didn’t feel right for who I am now. PLUS I was tired of wearing pants that were a little tight around the waist (and hips) just to try to look slimmer. F*** that! 😉

The result? A wonderfully flowy group of clothes that all fit!

Some of my new purchases with stuff from my closet.

I went to Target for stretchy jeans and slacks, a few maxi skirts, and cardigans and lucked out by hitting sales. And then went to Ross for discount shoes and some scarves. Guess who’s able to wear heels again? Yep, my balance and strength are back now that it’s been a year and a half since my hip replacement. Woohoo!

Clearance sandals at Target… $7…

I also went to my favorite Goodwill to find tops…. and while I was there I found a delightful dress… I love it when that happens…

FireBonnet goes bohemian!

I had fun putting my new clothes (including the fashion scarves) in order by color in my closet. This is the first year I have ever had purple in my wardrobe. Yet I LOVE it now! Isn’t it funny how your tastes change?

Left to right… Browns/beiges, peach/coral, purple, red, turquoise, green and blacks/greys.

The delightful part for me, besides the retail therapy 😉 , has been putting together outfits each work day. Here is a fashion show of a few of my ensembles.

I have so many more to put together with all the separates I’ve got… I think I’ll start posting them on Instagram and Facebook for fun. The layers I have will work well into the winter here in Camarillo.  Just add some tights (which I stocked up on last year) or boots (have had for ages) and I am set!

How about you? Have you done some clothes shopping for fall?

As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.

I have to make do with cool necklaces! I’ve been making a lot of them lately… but I’m saving them for next week’s post!

Hey Meghan – what a fun post 0 I enjoyed the outfits and that dress is amazing – oh – and I just love Ross – they have one in Williamsburg and I like to get different teas and different “salt” mixtures there. Anyhow, I am going to try and catch up on your blog later this month – but in the meantime I was able to make it to this post and I am glad I did. Have a nice week amiga.

Love!!!! I really love the jeans and black stripped blouse. So you! Classy yet casual. Nice pairing! Also LOVE the red cardigan and black skirt with tights. I bet you look amazing in them all!

That’s funny about the swearing Justine. I have quite the sailor’s mouth but my BFF (who worked in the same office with me for years) was always surprised when she heard me swear. Even though she knew I did, I guess there’s just something about how I look or come across that makes it seem like I’m a lady and no words like that ever pass my lips. My husband loves that his little firebonnet fairy has a foul mouth on occasion… naughty man.
Yes, I can imagine the flowy clothes on you as well!

It IS a great feeling to get stuff cleaned up and out and organized. Especially at the change of the seasons. I hope you didn’t miss your run too much!

Thanks Mara… coming from someone who is probably also well organized that is a lovely compliment. Now I’ll have to get some shots of my tights clad legs and shoes when I’m on my commute… 😉 Oh and maybe paint my nails!

Thanks Genevieve! One of the many hats I wore in my 20’s and 30’s was costume designer. It’s fun to put together a wardrobe for the character of a “phone answering firebonnet”. lol

Someone was having a blast. Good for you! I was supposed to do a long run yesterday; instead, I ended up cleaning out and organizing my closet…then I rearranged my living room and cleared off table tops and kitchen counters for a more simplified, clarifying feel. Such a good feeling ~

Wow! These outfits were really thought through and well thought out! I’m very impressed. They’re professional plus funky plus work-appropriate plus relaxed and comfy. Awesome. Clothes shopping is one of my favorite activities.
