Random Moments of Delight #20: Tiny Toyota Hitches a Ride

This week my husband and I took our next step in preparation for his retirement, and bought a trailer so our tiny Toyota can hitch a ride on our adventures.

When Tim retires in a year, we’re planning to live for six months on the family ranch in McCall, Idaho (you know the warm ones) and then six months in a motor-home farther south (you know where it doesn’t snow). We’ve prepared for it since we married.

Last year we bought Tina (short for Tiny Toyota), a Scion IQ.

This year we bought a trailer.

Tina TransportWhen we travel, Tina is going to hitch a ride.

Tina transport 2There’s so much room she’ll be very comfy.

Tina transport 3And there’s lots of space for hubby Tim’s tools… his garage away from home.

Tina transport 4But she’s not the only one who will hitch a ride… John Steed, our Honda Sabre Shadow (here) will be coming with us too. How could we go anywhere without our motorcycle?

Tina transport 5Right now our (unnamed) trailer is getting a good coat of paint on the inside so Tina Toyota and John Steed will have a classy place to ride in on our adventures. The only thing left to find is our perfect motor-home. My dream is the 2004 Gulf Stream Friendship! Doesn’t it look dreamy all Photoshopped in front of our beautiful (unnamed) trailer?

Tina Transport 6I can’t tell you how much delight both Tim and I get from taking steps towards the next stage of our lives. Happy hugs and sparkling smiles keep us company as we plan this last year here in Camarillo.

I’d love to hear your random moments. Please join in and share a post any time this week! What a great capture! Isn’t that funny when you take lots of shots and the first one really does end up the best? Thank you so much for joining in the fun! That iris truly was basking in the sun. I put it up on the post so others can check it out. I hope that’s ok.

I have to admit I feel a little guilty when Tim leaves for work every day. I’m already retired. Hopefully this next year will be enjoyable for him too.

Yep, that’s right Justine. The motor home pulls the trailer. That’s why it has to be a certain kind (a diesel pusher) with the kind of towing capacity to pull it. and it really is exciting!

OK, I’ll play today. I had a random moment of delight yesterday evening when we went for a walk in a park where I often find good photo material. But it was getting late, and most everything was in shadow. Then I found a single iris still basking in filtered sunlight. I took a dozen shots of it, but amazingly, the first was the best. (I’ve never posted a photo in this manner before, so I don’t know if it will show up or be a link or something else).

Wow it sounds so exciting gosh and your so organized. So let me get this straight the trailer takes the vehicles to your six month destination where you live in a motor home. So does the motor home pull the trailer to your destination every six months? Xx

I'd love to hear from you!
