Random Moments of Delight: 1st Snowfall

By far the best thing to happen this week was the delightful first snowfall of the season on our wonderful Idaho mountain ranch.

Cooper the Cattledog experiences his first snowfall.

The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found?

If all is going well, hubby, the 2catsandacattledog and I are on the road today heading south to California for the winter. It was marvelously fun to have one great snow before we left. I’m not going to write much for this post as it’s Saturday and I’m supposed to be packing our motor home. I just want to share some of the photos I took on the days after the gentle and steady snowfall.

To top it all off, I caught a video of a bevy of quail visiting our yard during the snow.

That’s it for now from the snowy land of the Lazy D Ranch. We’ll be coming back in early April for the muddy spring (which I’ll love too). This winter I’ll show you the beauty of life in Bakersfield, CA. I lived there for 15 years and I know it well. I hope you are all having weather that you enjoy, whatever it is!

As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.

*All the photos of the snowfall were taken from 11-5 thru 11-7-15, with my iPhone 6s and edited in Enlight.

Bloggers, would you like to share a random delight? Please simply put a link to your post in a comment. I’d love to hear from you.

City and town traffic will do that. I like snow much better than the heat and sun in the summer. Mom says I’m more of an Icelandic Cattledog than an Australian one. Thanks for stopping by Cupcake! ~Cooper

Thanks N! Yes, everyone is in a different place with likes and dislikes of weather. And as you point out it was so romantic because I knew it was the only one for me this year. lol

What lovely scenes! And if I knew such a snow were the only one I’d have for some time, I’d be excited about experiencing it too. (I, on the other hand, took exceptional delight in the few unseasonable 80 degree days we had this week.) Thanks for letting us into your world!
