Random Moments of Delight #31: Welcome to this World Little One!

This week my oldest son and my daughter-in-law gave birth to their first child. She is also my first grandchild.

A baby is God’s opinion that life should go on.

So far I’ve only seen photos and heard stories, but will remedy that in September when I fly to Portland to meet her and make our own stories.

I was looking for baby quotes for this post and couldn’t help but giggle at this one…

The absolute dependence of a newborn infant inspired many things in me, but it did not activate any magical knowledge about what to do for the next twenty years.

Mary Kay Blakely

So true! I’m still trying to figure out how this parenting thing works, and now my kid has a kid…

Anyone who tells you fatherhood is the greatest thing that can happen to you, they are understating it.

Mike Myers

I have fallen in love with this little soul who I have only seen in photos.

My granddaughter’s birth has made me want to create things she will love.

Billy Crystal

I look into her eyes and find a world of adventures just waiting to happen.

As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day. :D (All photos in this post © by my son and his wife who are professional photographers, as well as her parents.)

How fun! Yes, she is named after my daughter-in-law’s great great grandmother. It seems to be a name that has come back into vogue.

Thank you! although it’s weird to be congratulated since I really didn’t do anything. I guess raising a man who will be a good father is good though. Her name is Emma, Genevieve.

Congratulations on becoming a grandmother–what a special and honored title! I can only hope that someday mine will be ready to take that step into parenthood.
