It’s taken me a week and a half to come up with a response to Shafali’s Creativity Carnival cue-art caricature of Isaac Newton.
In the spirit of the comic nature of Newton’s portrait, I decided to put together some Bitstrips comics with gravity quotes (and a few apples) for a rather absurd post.
What goes up must come down.
— Isaac Newton
I want to lose weight by eating nothing but moon pies, which have significantly less gravity than earthier foods such as fruits and vegetables.
― Jarod Kintz, I Want
I would feel infinitely more comfortable in your presence if you would agree to treat gravity as a law, rather than one of a number of suggested options.
― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones
I have a strong disrespect for authority and for rules. Including gravity. Gravity sucks.
— Sebastian Thrun
You fainted and I caught you. It was the first time I’d supported a human. You had such heavy bones. I put myself between you and gravity. Impossible.
― Elizabeth Knox, The Vintner’s Luck
You can’t blame gravity for falling in love.
— Albert Einstein
Gravity is a contributing factor in nearly 73 percent of all accidents involving falling objects.
― Dave Barry
An object in motion tends to remain in motion along a straight line unless acted upon by an outside force.
— Isaac Newton
Love is metaphysical gravity.
— R. Buckminster Fuller
And finally, with a fun tip of the hat to the cue-art…
Just because an apple falls one hundred times out of a hundred does not mean it will fall on the hundred and first.
― Derek Landy, Death Bringer
There you have it! A little humor and a few quotes to celebrate Shafali’s Creativity Carnival and Isaac Newton. I’m looking forward to her next cue-art. I invite you to visit her website, she is an awesome caricaturist!
As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.
