Photo-Editing Challenge: Vintage – Bourbon and Boots

With the theme vintage, I immediately thought of a photo I took in 2011 of bourbon and boots.

Sonel’s instructions for this week’s photo-edit challenge are:

Take a photo of something that’s old or even antique and give it that ‘Vintage’ look with your editing.

Here is the original photograph I took with my iPhone 4. My husband keeps this still life in the barn in Idaho in remembrance of his grandfather… fedora, branding iron, water bag for the car, boots and booze.

Original photograph, taken in square format on my iPhone 4, no editing. © Meghan aka FireBonnet

The image already looks vintage due to the dusty nature of the items and the monochrome color scheme (exactly how it looks in the barn). However, I decided to try some other effects using Pixlr Express. Here they are, you tell me which one you like best!

I think my hubby is as much a character as his grandfather for keeping this still life of bourbon and boots in the barn!

As always I welcome your comments on this or any other part of my blog.

I probably prefer the original and then next is BB2. I remember Old Crow, a drink of my youth. I have no idea whether you can still buy it. Am feeling like a relic myself.

Such a great tribute to his grandfather Meghan and such a beatiful still life. Great shot and edits! I can’t pick a favourite. They are all so gorgeous! 😀
Thanks so much for taking part and for sharing hon. 😀 *hugs*

Thanks Amy! I like it even better now that I’ve found the online version of it. I’ve used it on my phone for years.

gosh what a combination, bourbon and boots. I do like the final image you came up with. How clever of your husband, too, it’s kind of like a “live” still life. We have a garage full of our former owner’s husband’s work boots and various nails, tools, clamps, chemicals . . . . I MUST PHOTO!!!!!

Grandpa’s old carriage is in the barn too, but not in a place where I can get a very attractive photo of it… but it’s pretty cool nonetheless. Thanks so much for commenting!

Hi – well I like pics 1 and 2 the best – and what a fun piece of living art for your husb to keep like that – very cool. Also, I found it interesting to see an old water bag 9pr part of it at least) have never really seen those.
