Phoneography Challenge: Nature – Sweet Pine Trees

When I explore the woodlands on our Idaho property, I am so enchanted by the quaking aspen, I forget to pay attention to the  pine trees sharing the woods.

I imagine this young grove of pines as a gang of adolescent boys strutting their stuff.

There are towering evergreens all over the woods, old and full of character.

However, I like the smaller pine trees, still growing, with their own stories to tell.

Our cattledog Cooper is often in my shots since he is a velcro dog and won’t let me go on a walk without him! He’s usually patient while I stand for long periods of time shooting with both my phone and Lumix.

This young tree looks like he would have fared better if he was part of a group of pine trees like in my first photo.

Although this little guy went through a hard time, I was encouraged to see the new growth on him. Perhaps the view inspires him, it does me!

As always I welcome your comments on this or any other part of my blog.

Thank you so much Ruckus! (and your mom). I’d be happy to hook back up to Thoughtless Thursday! I guess I worry about making it to visit all the other blogs on the linky list. But I think maybe if I just visit a few each week, and a different the next I’ll be good. I’ll link up now! And thank you so much for the comments on my photography. You rock! (Sepia Saturday is a must each week for sure)

Oh so beautiful. Love the green and bright capture. Great photography skills. I didn’t know you had another blog! The merge is a great idea since it’s alot of work trying to maintain 2 blogs! Also, I would like to invite you back to Thoughtless Thursday to continue the fun. It’s for all blogs..not just pets. I need my weekly dose of haikus!

Well, there is certainly snow all over those trees at the moment as they are in the mountains of Idaho, it’s just that we’re down here at our home in SoCal. Some day I’ll see the snow on them!

Absolutely!!!!! However, because I’ve only been to the ranch in the summers, I have yet to see it. And I DO remember it in CO. When we retire, I’ll see it in all its glory since we’ll live there. Don’t worry, there are more posts for the aspens. I have one I did for WP Weekly: Community, that they are featured.

never heard the term “velcro” dog, but that is our black lab (and the black one we had in the 90’s) – always there… 😉
nice post with the tress – but I was hoping to see a few Aspens too (but I know this was about not overlooking the pines!!) – but the mention of the Aspens reminds me of fall in Colorado – do you remember the changing of the Aspens?? Do you have that in Idaho too???

Isn’t it amazing how great the phone cameras are now? And I don’t even have any of the lenses you can get for them. (yet 😉 ) Thank you Caren!
