Phonegraphy Challenge: Macro – It Bugs Me

I have a duo of bugs for your viewing pleasure today… I know, yuck.

I have trouble with Sally’s Lens and Pens Phoneography Challenge when it comes to macro week. I just can’t get my iPhone 4 to take really close up photos without the subject blurring. I don’t have any special lenses for my phone, so in this set of images, I have the original shot of the dead bug then I cropped it to get a closer look at the creepy guy.

Original, uncropped.

Cropped and edited in Pixlr Express. More of an alien presence!

It bugs me (pun intended) that I can’t get close enough to create a really abstracted image for my macro shots… but I will keep trying!  To see more macros, head to Lens and Pens’ Phoneography Challenge.

As always I welcome your comments on this or any other part of my blog.

I’m totally with you on looking like an alien … I would guess the designers get lots of inspiration from bugs and reptiles!

As you will see my comment came through firebonnet, it seems I can post comments from my phone. But if I try to comment using the chrome browser it does that weird thing and wont let me comment. So I thought I would log on to wordpress using internet explorer and here I am I can comment, so that’s really weird, I wonder if I can change something on chrome as that’s the user I usually tend to chose, but glad I can comment anyway 🙂

Great photo, but it reminds me of something out of predator. Maybe I have been watching too many childrens films, hehe

I don’t mind bugs at all. 🙂 Do you know what bug this is? I don’t LOL. I do the same thing, go as close as possible without blurring and then crop it later so that it looks even bigger.

It is a very dead bug. I would guess it’s a grasshopper or cricket or locust. Hard to tell since it might not be it’s original color. I think it is at the entrance of it’s predators hole. Sorry for the yuck factor, but I think bugs are fascinating… they look so alien.
