N: My Trustworthy Navigator

When I began motorcycle riding I put all of my trust in Tim, my now husband, to be my navigator.

The best way to navigate through life is to give up all of our controls.

Gerald Jampolsky
I am still amazed that I let go of control every time I get on the back of a motorcycle with my husband. I simply trust, and it is liberating.
Before I met Tim, I spent a lot of time trying to control my environment. I suffer from anxiety and the world tended to overwhelm me. Learning to let go and allow Tim to help me navigate past my ‘boogeymen’ has made a tremendous change in my life.

When I was first riding with him, I said to myself… he’s been riding for 50 years and he’s still whole and hearty, I’ll try it. I’m so glad I did. We have such wonderful adventures.

I’m sure you can see the recurring theme in these photographs… the color red. Red for warmth and energy… action and passion. These are all things that Tim has helped me to discover, or more likely, rediscover in myself.

Perhaps the dragon on Tim’s helmet is his secret navigator… they are supposed to be wise you know!

As I was writing this post I came across another quote that really struck a chord.

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.

Golda Meir

Because I trust my navigator, I also trust myself. I am worthy of trust and that is a powerful thing to know about myself.

What are your thoughts about trust? Do you find it as liberating and empowering as I do?

Thank you so much for visiting. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.

I am linking to the wonderful weliveinaflat’s Snappy H’appy Photo Challenge this week. The theme is a pop or splash of color. I used ColorSplash on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to accentuate the red in all of these photos. I am very pleased with the effect! My personal favorite is the parked motorcycle with the accent of red flowers in the yard. Do you have a favorite?

I think the red is the perfect touch for the motorcycle pictures. When you’re in control all the time, it feels all the better to be able to let it go now and then.

Thanks so much Maggie! I’m really pleased with how they came out. Tim has two motorcycle jackets with red and that custom helmet… they were begging for a color splash! (that’s actually the app I used… Color Splash)
