From the Back of a Motorcycle #16: The Skies are Rich

As a passenger on a motorcycle I am able to scan the skies and see the rich world above us.

This is the sixteenth post in a series featuring one of my photos taken from the back of our (moving) Honda Sabre Shadow, paired with words I wrote while on the same, or different, ride with my husband.

I see all sorts of wonderful sights in the skies, but I’m afraid my camera isn’t as quick. In this image, it only caught the moon… you’ll have to read the poetry to see the rest.

Pacific coast near Malibu, CA. 9.23.12, taken with a Canon PowerShot A560.

Flittering kites play with the wind,

Pelicans parade in formation,

Hawks pace their rock shadows…

The skies are rich riding a motorcycle today.

Thank you for visiting. I wish I could take all of you on our rides with us! Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day. :D

I will be taking a break from this weekly feature, From the Back of a Motorcycle, until about mid August. We’re going to our ranch in Idaho for five weeks where I hope to get more rich material for my poetry in motion! I will be posting a lot about our Idaho Adventures so stay tuned through July for some fun stuff.
