Creativity Carnival: Handcuffs and Rose

Digital artist that I am, I chose to take Shafali’s Creativity Carnival cue-art for this week, Handcuffs and Rose, and visually play with the image and not create with words.

Handcuffs and Rose by Shafali

There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because before he can do so he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted.

Henri Matisse

I’ve participated in Shafali’s Creativity Carnival for a few weeks now. This week, however, I’ve been really busy and wasn’t sure I’d be able to post something by Friday. Then I had a creative flash! I took her cue-art and using two photo apps created variations of her drawing. Enjoy the gallery! Click on any one of them to go through a slide show of them all.

For anyone interested, the apps I used are 100 Filters and Pixlr Express. I tried to keep the vintage feel of the original drawing. Which one do you like?

As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.

I like 11 as well, very simple and unassuming. 15 seems to be a fave among a few of us. To me 1 has a lot of the original drawing in it, and the heart made of the cuffs brings the same romanticism as your drawing. Thanks for the cue-art and an excuse to get out my apps again.

Thanks n! Always nice to hear from you. cuffs 9 is my hubby’s favorite too… He thought it would make a beautiful tile. And the other one is daVinciesque.

I love them all. They are all unique artworks in their own right – and they are all lovely. It’s difficult to say which one I like the best… Cuffs 1, 11, and 15? But they are lovely. Thanks for participating. It was so wonderful to see these works and to think that there’s a bit of my drawing in there 🙂

I always enjoy your photo editing. Cuffs 9 is my favorite…reminds me of a Mediterranean tile. And other than the bright colors, something about Cuffs 15 brings Da Vinci to mind.

I'd love to hear from you!
