Christmas Challenge: Days 16, 17, 18 and 19 – I’m Behind!

With the holidays and entertaining and still working FT I’m behind on my blogs! 😉  So I will cover four of the Christmas Challenge questions in one post.

Day 16 – What’s at the top of your tree?

When I was pregnant for our first child, my new husband and I were poor as church mice and so I made most of the ornaments for our very first Christmas tree. I still have them.  I was working as a costumer at the time so had access to all sorts of sewing odds and ends.   The red balls are made of flannel and stuffed with foam.  Each has different trim hot-glued on them.  The green bows are trimmed in rick-rack and tied on the tree with garbage bag ties! I remember when we bought our lights at a drug store, we found this little fabric doll for a tree topper. I added cotton lace on her back for angel wings. Although we have put different things on the top of our tree throughout the years, this one has topped the tree the most.

Day 17 – Favorite holiday food?

My favorite holiday food is a candy. I don’t eat a lot of candy (and don’t eat wheat so lots of holiday foods are off my list). Pumpkin pie is a  Thanksgiving yummy. So my Christmas goody is Buttercrunch Toffee Bark . If I’m going to go into a sugar coma… I’m doing it with this! Here is a recipe: http://joyofbaking.com/ButtercrunchToffee.html You can’t go wrong with dark chocolate, almonds and butter (and lots of chewy and crunchy)!

Day 18 – When do you start putting gifts under the tree?

About a week before Christmas.  It gives the cats enough time to mess up the ribbons.

Jack tells Buffy that anything in a box gets wrapped up to put under the tree... hehehe.

Day 19 – Fruitcake.  Yay or Nay?

This is easy…. NAY!   😉

Now I’m caught up, phew.  And my last day at work is tomorrow so I can get back to blogging on time! 😉
