Today’s lesson in Blogging University is a continuation of yesterday’s … looking at the visual effect of my blog.
Today’s assignment: experiment with visual changes and see whether you can refine your brand further and add more dimension to your posts.

Michelle goes on to recommend looking at different themes, fonts, colors and backgrounds. I’ve spent the past six months doing just that, continuing to refine my look and my style. I am very happy with the soothing blues and greens and with the warm dark grey background. They set off the color of my artwork and photographs.
She then mentioned the header… This ties in nicely with my goal from yesterday’s lesson, to get my header and tagline more noticeable. So I worked on that. I began with a design I created about a month ago for my Zazzle store (which now I want to edit! 😉 ).
Since it was in PhotoShop Elements it was easy to do some editing of the text. What took awhile was finding the critters! It’s been a little difficult unifying a blog that is written by yours truly and ALSO three animals. I hope I got a good balance of fun and frolic while also staying fresh and new.
I’m going to live with it for a while to see if I want to tweak it. In the meantime I think I’m going to use something along these lines to unify my other social media.
I have a question for you… do you think my avatar works? Is it in keeping with the rest of my ‘brand’ so to speak? I have a fun and funny side to me and I kind of like the comedic alter ego. I did change the color of the background and the font to work with my turquoise and cream color scheme. Let me know what you think, about that and my header.
Thank you for visiting my blog! Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day.
