1 Day 1 World Project: 4-5 pm – Buffy the Lizard Catcher

A little over a month ago Buffy Cat decided she wanted to make friends with a lizard.

In Buffy’s haiku What About a Lizard she wrote that since she couldn’t catch birds anymore (I’d put a bell on her), maybe reptiles would make good prey pets. Yesterday she made an overture…

This week in the 1 Day 1 World Project hosted by Lisa at Northwest Frame of Mind I’m giving you a glimpse into my personal world between 4-5 pm.

I was out of creative energy yesterday so I didn’t write a new post. Instead I scheduled two months of daily quotes to appear on my Facebook fan page and my Twitter feed (using Hootsuite).

Out of the corner of my eye I noticed the two cats sitting still, right next to each other, and looking at the floor. Oh oh… Buffy had slipped her collar a few days ago and I hoped she hadn’t brought in a bird. Luckily no bird!

Instead she had made good on her promise to make friends with a lizard. The little fellow was a wise soul (or had great instincts) and pretended to be a rock. No movement equaled not much active (ahem) interest from the pussycats. I was able to pick him up and move him outside and I’m sure he scurried away as soon as he felt safe again. I would guess he wasn’t really interested in being Buffy’s prey pet. As for his tail? It’s very possible that he let it go in his attempt to escape his new friend -autotomy-.)

As always I am so pleased that you visited. Your comments warm my heart and put a smile in my day. :D Come back next week when I share what I did in my day between 5 and 6 pm… it’ll be a surprise.. for both of us! Find other bloggers’ 4-5 pm HERE.

my mom brought a lizard from Florida to Virginia – it hitchhiked a ride in her car and we were laughing when he came out of the car….

    fun post!

Well, unfortunately when Buffy brought in the birds they weren’t always dead… which was pretty awful… eeek. As for Hootsuite. Yes it’s easy to use. And for scheduling posts ahead of time it’s great.
